Hallo, ich schon wieder,

ich habe nun 12-CURRENT auf meinem Laptop in der UEFI-Variante installiert und bekomme den Grafikmodus nicht in die Gänge. Das gleiche Problem hatte ich zuvor schon mit 11.1. xorg und xdm sind installiert, in /etc/ttys ist ttyv8 aktiviert, also off -> on geändert und meine Kennung der Gruppe vide hinzugefügt.. xdm startet zwar einen Prozess, aber es passiert einfach nichts, weder mit startx noch mit Alt+F9.
Offenbar wird der Grafikchip nicht erkannt. Das ist ein Intel HD 630, aslo nichts superexotisches.

Mit pciconf kann zumindest sehen, dass der Chip drinsteckt:

Ich habe in meiner Verzweiflung, nachdem mit 11.1 nicht viel ging, versucht TrueOS zu installieren. Das ist zwar auch gescheitert, weil der Installer einen Bug bei der ZFS-Partitionierung hat. Aber immerhin ist der Installer im Grafikmodus gestartet. D.h. irgendwie muss es offenbar möglich sein, dieses Teufelsding anzuwerfen.
Als Module habe ich dann noch i915kms und drm2 nachgeladen, hilft aber auch nicht.
Was könnte man noch probieren?
 
Ah, super. Mit dem drm-next bin ich weiter gekommen. Danke. Danach beschwerte sich dbus noch, dass es keine /etc/machine-id gäbe. Die habe ich dann dbus-uuidgen erzeugt und schon war Xfce auf dem Bildschirm :)
