Hi zusammen

ich habe folgendes Problem mit einem Acer L5100 - mini Desktop-Comp.

Beim Boot bekomme ich die Message:

Code:
AP #1 (PHY# 1) failed!
panic y/n? [y]

Mit einem 'n' lässt sich die Maschine booten.
Mit 'y' gibts natürlich panic.

Da das Ding tastaturlos/ohne Monitor als mini-Server laufen soll, ist dieser Zustand natürlich nervig - nach jedem Reboot kurz Tastatur anstöpseln und 'n' drücken ist definitiv nicht, was geplant ist :)

Versucht habe ich ein paar CD-Boot-Images:
FreeBSD 6.3 32 bit - simple kernel panic, kein Boot möglich
FreeBSD 7.0 64bit - schickt endlos kernel panics übern Bildschirm
FreeBSD 8.0 32 bit CURRENT - wie 6.3
FreeBSD 8.0 64 bit CURRENT - wie 7.0

Somit sauber bootbar nur FreeBSD 7.0 32 bit mit der Macke oben.

Mit "ACPI off" per FreeBSD oder BIOS bootet das Ding problemlos, aber damit möchte ich nicht leben - zumal mit ACPI das ganze ja funktioniert, nur dieser eine blöde Tastendruck ist *extrem* störend.

Recherche hat mich dazu geführt:

- Versuch auf Auskommentieren der Abfrage auf Eingabe führt zu einer panic.
- längeres Warten in der in der Funktion "start_ap" auf 20 Sekunden hat
auch nichts gebracht.

Was mich stutzig macht ist, dass es per Tastendruck 'n' ja funktioniert, entfernt man die Abfrage -> panic.

Irgendwie scheint das Warten und Tastendrücken FreeBSD + AP in den richtigen Zustand zu versetzen, damit stinknormal gebootet werden kann.

Maschine hat nun 11 Tage Uptime mit wechselnder Last (mail, spam filter, antivirus, squid proxy usw.) hinter sich, und zeigt null Probleme.

Da ich sonst sehr zufrieden mit dem Teil bin (und es dazu auch noch gut
aussieht :cool: ) , würde ich das Ding gerne dauerhaft behalten und das Problem lösen.

Drum hoffe ich inständig, dass irgendein Guru mit nem ähnlichen Problem
da irgendeinen Weg weisen kann :)

edit: Nein, ich kann nicht remote-kernel-debuggen, weil das Ding keine serielle hat...
edit: Weitere Problemchen:
- powernow attach 6 - kein PowerNow, Maschine scheint das aber hardware-mäßig
zu tun, evtl. kein Handlungsbedarf (sehr kühl, extrem leise..), mit Handmesser: etwas warm an der rechten Seite mit Kernel-Compile

Was passiert denn, wenn du 'n' drückst und die Maschine weiter bootet? Ist ACPI dann an oder ausgeschaltet?

An deiner Stelle würde ich mich mit dem Problem an die Current- oder Stable- listen des FreeBSD-Projekts richten. Da kann dir vermutlich am ehesten weitergeholfen werden.

Wenn ich einfach 'n' drücke, normaler Boot mit ACPI, auch die anderen Kerne starten.

Werde mich mal schlau machen, wie das mit den Mailinglisten funktioniert, ist wahrscheinlich besser :o
 
Da gibt es wohl ein Problem mit Deinem apic.

Man kann versuchen in loader.conf

einzufügen.

Oder apic ganz rauszuschmeißen. Aber dann hast Du wahrscheinlich kein SMP.

Funktioniert SMP wenn Du "n" drückst? Wenn Du meinst, dass Deine CPU+Mainboard völlig in Ordnung sind, dann melde das mal an die Mailingliste (freebsd-stable).
