Enterprise SSD für SQL Server

Hi,

ich möchte bei uns den DB Server bissel aufrüsten. Die Daten sollen auf einen ZFS Mirror ( logs u.s.w. seperater HDD ZFS Mirror ). Habe die Intel DC S3700 mit 400GB im Auge. Die Teile sollen an einen LSI 9207-8i Controller ( IT Firmware ). Spricht was dagegen? System wird FreeBSD 9.2 sein, als DB kommt MariaDB zum Einsatz. Habe eine non Enterprise SSD Installation auf einem Testserver und die sysbench Benchmarks sind beeindruckend.

Nein, ist schon okay. Wenn du es günstiger haben willst, ist eine ordinäre Samsung 840 Pro auch einen Blick wert. Natürlich eine Klasse schlechter, aber in der Praxis macht das kaum einen Unterschied.

Durch den Intel ICH 10 Controller werden die Transfer rates stark begrenzt, der bietet nur SATA-II. Dennoch fühlt sich die Samsung 840 Pro erheblich schneller im laufenden System an, als die alte Samsung SSD PB22-J/PM800
RSS, bzw. die alte Corsair Performance Series P128 SSD, die sich über die Jahre auch sehr gut gehalten haben.

Richtig fies ist aber die nur 7mm Bauhöhe der Samsung 840 Pro, die macht richtig Ärger in 2½ Zoll Wechseleinschüben.

Mist, sehe grade ich brauch 600GB als 1:1 Ersatz. Die 800GB der 3700er Reihe bekomme ich nicht durch vom Preis ... und die 3500er Reihe soll laut Tests nicht so prickelnd sein. Samsung stellt ja momentan die Nachfolger für die Pro SSD's vor ... wie schauts mit Seagate aus? Hast Du oder jemand anders da Erfahrung? Bzw. noch andere Hersteller? HGST ( Western Digital Group ) vielleicht?
