At the moment I can not export my ext2 mounted directories.
Dec 27 23:15:38 delphin kernel: ext2fs doesn't support the old mount syscall
Dec 27 23:15:38 delphin mountd[4111]: can't export /srv/mlnet
Dec 27 23:15:38 delphin mountd[4111]: bad exports list line /srv/mlnet
I did find some threads about that, but they were from 2002 !

my freeBSD is 5.3...

Any experiance there?

Cheers,
Ron

Are you sure, that you are running 5.3 kernel + userland? The mount-syscall has been changed in 6-CURRENT, perhaps you have mixed some parts?

Also, please post /etc/exports and the output of 'mount' and/or /etc/fstab

I wouldn't know how could I have mixed them, since I did not install from cvs, but from the iso, and make a standard install.

I now copied the ext2 partition to other partitions, erased it and made a new native bsd one instead.

Currently I am trying to copy the files back to it...

I also understood, and since no one replied for so long, that exporting ext2 via nfs in bsd is not possible...

I guess I was wrong?

I still have one ext3 partition on the disk. If you have the time, I can try exporting it "with you"...

drop me word,...
Cheers,
Ron

I'm exporting FAT partitions and have exported iso9660 discs, so I fail to see how ext2fs could be different. I'm suspecting a user error here.

Remember: You cannot export arbitrary directories, you have to export "filesystem", that is individual partitions or mount-points.

PS: You do know, that this is a german-speaking BSD forum? Do you know http://www.freebsdforums.org You might get faster responses there.

(ja ich weiss - ich spreche auch deutsch....)
hmm... das heisst, ich muss den gesamten Mount exportieren? ich versuche es später und melde mich dann...
Gruß,
Ron
