Hallo Leute

Ich krieg den verdammten Nvidia Treiber nicht zum laufen. Scheint wirklich verhext zu sein mit 6.0

Der Monitor liefert Müll. Schalte alles, was mit EDID zu tun hat, in der xorg.conf aus und trage alle Frequenzen/Auflösungen manuell ein. Näheres erklärt die README von nVidia sehr ausführlich.
 
Also ich muss die Werte für HorizSync und VertRefresh manuell in die xorg.conf eintragen? Hab ich das richtig verstanden?
Sind das die Werte des Monitors oder der Grafikkarte?

Mein Monitor ist ein Sony Multiscan E200 und hat ne Horizontfrequenz von 30-85khz und Vertikal 48-120Hz.

sowie es aussieht, hast du eine altere nvidia grafikkarte in deinem system. lies dir mal deine /usr/ports/x11/nvidia-driver/Makefile durch, dort wird beschrieben wie man einen aelteren nvidia treiber installieren kann, um eben auch aeltere nvidia grafikkarten unter freebsd zu betreiben (augenmerk auf -DWITH_LEGACY_GPU_SUPPORT).

Dann hast du entweder die README oder meinen Post nicht gelesen. Ich habe doch geschrieben, daß du alles betreffend EDID abschalten sollst. In der README wird haarklein erläutert, wie man das macht und wozu EDID gut ist und warum das Probleme geben kann.

Seine GeForce4 wird auch vom aktuellen Treiber unterstützt. Allerdings war EDID bei älteren nvidia(4) standardmäßig abgeschaltet. Da WITH_LEGACY_GPU_SUPPORT aber absolut unsupported ist (siehe Makefile), sollte man das Problem lieber gleich richtig lösen.
