XFree86 mit Geforce2Go?

Hi!
Ich bin grad am verzweifeln. Ich hab nen Dell Inspiron 8000 mit ner GeForce2 Go und will bzw. hab da ein OpenBSD laufen. Naja, eigentlich ja kein Problem, nur find ich ne grafische Oberfläche zum Programmieren hat halt schon so seine Vorteile, also mal XFree86 4.3.0 vom OpenBSD Server gezogen und installiert, machte auch keine Probleme, nur mag er meine GraKa nicht.
Wenn ich den NVIDIA GeForce (nv) Treiber nehme, bekomm ich gar kein brauchbares Bild, mit dem Generic VESA Treiber kann ich wenigstens auf 640x480 mit 8bit arbeiten. Doch das ist leider kein Zustand, ich würde schon gerne die vollen 1600x1200 nutzen.
Doch ich hab gegoogelt was das Zeug hält, doch nix zu finden, was hilft. Die FreeBSD Treiber von NVIDIA bekomm ich nicht kompiliert und bei den Linux Treibern meldet er mir, ich hab ja OpenBSD und kein Linux, also auch kein Erfolg.
Hat jemand ne Idee, was ich noch machen kann oder ob/wie ich die FreeBSD Treiber zum laufen bekommen könnte?

Wie wäre es mit ein paar logs oder sonstigen Infos. Solche Bezeichnungen wie "nicht mögen" usw. haben hier nichts zu suchen, wenn sie nicht mit Logs belegt sind.

Nur so zur Aufmunterung: Ich habe einen Dell Inspiron 8200 und habe den, bevor der NVidia Treiber herauskam, mit dem normalen "nv" Treiber von XFree mit 1600x1200 betrieben. Vielleicht postet Du mal, wie CW vorschlägt, das log file (/var/log/XFree?.log).

Ich glaub das lag daran, dass ich die XFree86 für OpenBSD 3.2 auf meinem 3.3 nicht installiert bekommen hab. Beim ausführen von Xinstall.sh kam immer die Fehlermeldung "Bad extract.exe, renamed to extract.exe.bad".
Hoffe ihr könnt mir trotzdem helfen.

Das hängt davon ab, in welchem Verzeichnis du dich auf ftp.openbsd.org befunden hast.

Du muss in das jeweilige Verzeichnis gehen und die Tarballs holen.

Was hat der 3.2-er Xfree mit 3.3 Xfree zu tun?

Wenn es ginge, dann gäbe es ein Verzeichnis auf dem FTP-Server mit den Binaries die für alle Versionen passen.

Also schleunigst die richtigen Versionen installieren.

Beim ausführen von Xinstall.sh kam immer die Fehlermeldung "Bad extract.exe, renamed to extract.exe.bad".
Hoffe ihr könnt mir trotzdem helfen.

Installiere die richtigen Tarballs.

Installiert hab ich nur die Packages vom openbsd ftp (bzw. vom tiscali Mirror in Frankfurt) und mein derzeit laufender XFree86 ist aus dem XF4.tar.gz von ftp://ftp.openbsd.org/pub/OpenBSD/3.3/ erstellt (aber halt nur 4.2.1 nicht 4.3.0 wie ich dachte). Ist also der richtige bzw aktuellste XFree86 für mein 3.3 drauf.
Mich würd aber interessieren, ob bzw. was ich an meiner XF86Config anpassen kann/muss, damit ich ein brauchbares Bild auf meiner GeForce2 Go bekomm. Im Moment hab ich nur blinkenden Pixelsalat.

Du solltest deine Hertzrate überprüfen.

Die scheint zu hoch zu sein.

Sie sollte be einem Flat/TFT-Schirm auf 60 Hertz liegen.

hab gegoogelt bis die schwarte kracht, aber hat mir alles nix genutzt, auch der hinweis von dir brachte keinen Erfolg.
Er läd die Oberfläche ja korrekt, zumindest kann man grob die Oberfläche erahnen, aber die darstellung ist halt falsch.
Bin mir sehr sicher, das das Problem am Treiber bzw. an dessen Konfiguration bzw. der Konfiguration meines XFree liegt.
Wenn ich das glx modul lade, schmiert mir der bildschirm komplett ab, dann kann ich den XFree zwar noch beenden, aber muss die Kiste rebooten wenn ich mein Bild wieder haben will.

Ich glaub, wenn ich das nicht bald hin bekomme arbeite ich eben auf 1280 mit 16bit, bis dahin konnte ich es mit den standard VESA Treibern immerhin schon treiben... :-/
