ipc topnote F notebook
unter linux gab es einen befehl namens:
lspci -v der hat mir alle meine hardware aufgelistet
wie heisst der unter freebsd?
ich hoffe jemand kann was damit anfangen und mir helfen

nach der Fehlermeldung scheint es ein Problem mit Deiner Monitor-Config zugeben.

Hast Du die eingetragenen Frequenzen mit den erlaubten für Deine Grafikarte und Monitor vergliechen?

Werte sehen aber nach Standard aus.

solche Infos liegen den Geräte in der Regel als Hardcopy bei.

Wenn Du diese nicht mehr hast, solltest Du es auf den Webseiten der Hersteller veruschen.

gebraucht kauf -- keine hardcopy
es gibt leider von genau diesem notebooktyp(ipc topnote f 210)
viele verschiedene sorten mit verschiedener hardware und die website ist anscheinend nur an firmen gerichtet
gibt es wirklich keinen befehl der mir die hardware auflistet?
seit ihr sicher das es an der hardware liegt und ich nicht etwas ganz elementares falsch gemacht habe?
 
Und falls Du Dein lspci suchst, kannst Du Dir den port /usr/ports/sysutils/pciutils installieren!
Dann gibt es auch diesen Befehl! ;o)

viele verschiedene sorten mit verschiedener hardware und die website ist anscheinend nur an firmen gerichtet

deine hardware siehst du wie unter linux auch mit dmesg; dein onboard-karte ist eine SiS630/730, die auch von xfree unterstützt wird:

was du machen könntest wäre mal folgendes kommando ausführen:
#XFree86 -configure
damit wird dir automatisch eine XFree86config angelegt mit allen video-treibern, vielleicht hilft dir das ja weiter, ansonsten probier vielleicht nochmal vesa als treiber...

Hmm. Wieso gibst Du hier einen konstanten Wert an?
XFree berechnet eine theoretische Horizontal- und Vertikalfrequenz.
Wenn die ermittelten Werte nicht mit den eingetragenen übereinstimmen, sagt XFree "nö is nich".

Besser ist es einen Frequenzbereich anzugeben.
Bei meinem Thinkpad (TFT 13,3", XGA 1024x768, 16Bit Farbtiefe) fahre ich

Schreibe doch diese Werte mal in Deine /etc/X11/XF86Config.

Und noch etwas:D: XFree hat Dir die maximale Bildauflösung mitgeteilt:

Im Manual zu XFree steht sogar drin, wie man aus obigen Angaben die Horizontal- und Vertikalfrequenz errechnen kann.

hatte urspruenglich die selben werte hat aber auch nicht geklappt
die festen zahlen habe ich aus einem pseudo-tutorial
