Folgender Mist passiert mit nvidia 8174:
TV-Karte installiert, kldload bktr.ko
dmesg:
bktr_mem: memory holder loaded
bktr0: <BrookTree 878> mem 0xe2001000-0xe2001fff irq 5 at device 12.0 on pci0
bktr0: [GIANT-LOCKED]
bktr0: Hauppauge Model 38104 B208
bktr0: Hauppauge WinCast/TV, Philips PAL I tuner.
Soweit also alles O.K., doch beim Starten von fxtv folgende Meldung:
$ fxtv
X Error of failed request: XF86DGANoDirectVideoMode
Major opcode of failed request: 138 (XFree86-DGA)
Minor opcode of failed request: 1 (XF86DGAGetVideoLL)
Serial number of failed request: 25
Current serial number in output stream: 25

just as a pointer, please review the NVIDIA README file, quoting from
it:

properly so that DGA clients can acquire relative pointer motion, DGA
entry
points such as XDGASetMode() and XDGAOpenFramebuffer() will fail.

forum
on nvnews.net.

Do you see the message in your Xorg log file? (I'm not using DGA, and
watching tv with mplayer which uses Xv).

Also liegt es am neuen Treiber. Mit kmplayer kriege ich auch nichts zu sehen,
xawtv funktioniert, wie im Thread beschrieben, natürlich auch nicht.
Weiß einer, mit welcher Treiberversion dieses dga noch läuft, ich habe nämlich keine Lust, jetzt eine Version abwärts nacheinander zu installieren, bis es geht?
Oder gibt es sonst eine Lösung fxtv, und xawtv zum Laufen zu bringen?
