USB Stick bootet aber ignoriert u.a fstab und rc.conf

hi,

ich habe ein Problem mit meinem USB Stick (Sony MicroVault 128MB leider mit einem Embedded Hub). Auf den Stick habe ich eine abgespeckte FreeBSD 5.3 Installation kopiert, frei nach [0], also kein 'make buildworld' etc. (weil ich u.a. nicht weiss wie lange so was in der Regel auf einem halbwegs aktuellen System dauert).
Wenn ich nun von dem Stick boote, dann laeuft anscheinend auch alles glatt, nur das u.a. offensichtlich weder die /etc/rc.conf noch /etc/fstab ausgewertet werden. Ich bekomme also weder den Hostnamen den ich mir wuensche noch wird / als read-write gemountet. ok, bei einem USB Stick ist read-only mounten auf dauer vielleicht besser, aber wenn dann moechte ich das selber entscheiden. Nachtraeglich kann ich ein 'mount -uw -o noatime /' und 'mount -ur /' ohne probleme durch fuehren.
