[gelöst] Problem mit Xorg

Hallo
Ich habe vor ein paar Tagen angefangen mir FreeBSD 6.1 zu installieren und konnte bisher alle Probleme (wahrscheinlich eher Problemchen) mit Google und der Forensuche lösen können, aber jetzt komme ich nicht mehr weiter.

Ich habe (scheinbar) ein Problem mit Xorg.

Wenn ich in der Konsole mit startx die fluxbox starten will, erscheint nur die ...
naja, das, was man sieht, wenn man in der Konsole ein X eintippt, dieses Xorg "Testbild".

Wenn ich mich als root einlogge und startx eingebe startet ganz normal dieser X wm mit den 3 Konsolen und der Uhr.

In der Xorg.0.log tritt ganz am Ende ein Fehler auf:

Ich habe mir die xorg.conf mit xorgconfig zusammengebastelt und habe sie anschließend mit nvidia-xconfig an den nvidia Treiber angepasst.

Diese Kombination hat funktioniert, dann habe ich das JDK15 und Thunderbird installiert (über die ports), und jetzt klappt das so nicht mehr.

Wisst ihr woran das liegen könnte?

habe selbst ein Problem und kenne mich nicht aus, doch, vielleicht hilft es, immerhin sind meine Erinnerungen noch frisch.

Ich glaube nicht, dass es was damit zu tun hatte, dass du JDK 15 und Firefox installiert hast. Es könnte zwar sein, doch, ich glaube das nicht.
Eventuell hast du irgendeine Änderung vorgenommen und hattest nicht gebootet. So lange das System oben war, lief es, doch hernach wurde diese Änderung, vielleicht ein geladenes Modul, nicht mehr ausgeführt. Du müsstest es dann wieder von Hand laden oder deine /boot/loader.conf anpassen. Etwas in der Art, stelle ich mir eher vor.
Um JDK zu installieren, musstest du auch die fedora cores installieren und dann irgendwie den proc einhängen, weißt du noch, was das war? Hat zwar kaum was mit deinem Problem zu tun, aber da habe ich eine Lücke.

xorgcfg hat bei mir nie zuverlässig funktioniert. Ich nehme gerne diesen Umweg: Knoppix oder Kanotix oder sonst eine live-CD mit guter HW-Erkennung. Dort kopiere ichmir die nötigen Einstellungen dann aus der xorg.conf heraus und binde sie in xorg.conf auf BSD ein. Das scheint grundsätzlich besser zu laufen.

Den fehler, den du da angibst, das ist wohl eine Folge-Erscheinung. Was angemeckert wird ist:

und das sind beides nur Warnungen. Gehen müsste es meiner Meinung nach trotzdem. Bei mir kommt wenigstens ne echte Fehlermeldung.

Ich glaube, dass dein fluxbox kaputt ist.
Du musst mal sehen, es gibt globale xinitrc und lokale und die können natürlich unterschiedlich sein. Die lokalen stehen im home Verzeichnis mit . voran. Du kannst ja mal versuchen, den root fluxbox starten zu lassen. Das kann dann über den Eintrag in die lokale xinitrc passieren, oder sollte auch durch direkten Aufruf von fluxbox auf der Konsole gehen.
Sodann kann es sinnvoll sein, einen einlog-Manager wie xdm zu benutzen und zu konfigurieren. Der kann dir Arbeit abnehmen und du kannst vor dem Einloggen zwischen unterschiedlichen Desktop-Enviroments wählen.

Ich habe, wie es in dem Link steht, die .Xauthority umbenannt, und die fluxbox konnte wieder starten.

Dabei wurde eine neue .Xauthority angelegt, in der diesmal etwas drinsteht, das wird wohl das Problem gewesen sein.

ich muss schon sagen...

also, erstmal hatte ich und finde ich gar nicht, dass da eine solche Fehlermeldung steht. Fehler sind doch mit EE und Warnungen mit WW markiert und da sieht alles anders aus.

Dann hätte ich wohl kaum aus diesem Beitrag abgeleitet, die Xauth* anders zu nennen und zu sehen, was da passiert.

Hmm. Muss doch noch viel lernen, wenn ich da bestehen will.
