Token Ring mit OpenBSD funzt nicht

Moin,

habe eine BSDbox und möchte sie gern im TR als Router und Firewall einsetzen. Wie ich in einigen Thread bereits gelesen habe soll die Unterstützung für TR-Karten ziemlich dürftig sein unter OpenBSD. Mir stehen auf der "uralten" Hardware die ich zur Verfügung habe drei ISA-Slots zur Verfügung. Olikom Nics habe ich schon getestet, die funzen garnicht, ich habe aber eine IBM Auto 16/4 herausgekramt, die mir zumindest beim Startvorgang gemeldet wird:

Ifconfig -a zeigt leider keine TRNic, aber ich schätze mal, dass bestimmt jemand weiß wie man eine solche Karte ins System einbindet oder einen Link parat hat der mir weiterhilft.

ansonsten: warum gibst du dich mit palaeontolgie ab? ich hab mal eben schnell nach openbsd und "token ring" gegoogelt... und auch nur fragen, keine antworten gefunden.

Soweit ich gesehen habe sind TR Karten im Standard- (Installations-) Kernel deaktiviert.
Du müsstest Dir also einen eigenen "Installkernel" bauen od. nach dem Installieren einen neuen Kernel kompilieren mit Unterstützung für TR Karten.
Ich würde dies aber noch mal überprüfen (Ich hab' hier gerade keine OBSD Maschine).

Im Ifconfig steht halt das übliche lo0, pflog0, pfsync0, enc0... nichts woraus man Schlüsse ziehen kann. Von TR keine Spur.

nope, die hat der nicht erkannt. wie gesagt: guck mal im kernel nach, obs mit reingebacken wurde.

Hab gerade gesehen, dass zwei TR-Karten vom Kernel unterstützt werden. Ist nur im GENERIC nicht aktiviert. Werde das die Tage mal testen.
