XMMS & Co : no sound bei Musik-CDs

Hallo,

weiter geht's im Takt zum Thema NetBSD und Multimedia ...

Diesmal Player für Musik-CDs: KsCD, XMMS und xmcd.

Music-CDs werden scheinbar abgespielt (LCD-Anzeige läuft, zeigt Abspielzeit usw. an)

Bei allen 3 oben genannten CD-Playern passiert vergleichbares, weiter unten die Meldungen im Terminal von Xmms und xmcd.

Fakten:

1) Soundkarte läuft, z.B. Mplayer spielt Videos und Ton problemlos :-))
2) Habe schon probiert, z.B. /dev/cd0d zu verwenden (xmcd verlangt ja rcd0d oder ähnliches) statt /dev/cd0a (mein IDE-DVD-Rom als master am 2. IDE-channel), wo's Soundkabel dran hängt)

Wäre schön, wenn jemand Erfahrung damit hat.

/dev/radio ? ist das für TV-Karten gedacht ? (habe sowas nicht im Rechner und damit ignoriert)

Übrigens: die xmms-Konfiguration hatte ich selbstverständlich vor dem Posting hier entsprechend dem Output von "dmesg | more" konfiguriert, nach bestem Wissen und Gewissen halt.

Zur CD:
dummerweise eine *Original* CD, eine recht *teure* noch dazu :(
Hab' es mit einer anderen CD getestet: die spezifischen Fehler-Meldungen sind weg - womit Deine These bestätigt wäre.

Dennoch: KEIN Musik-Sound !!
Ich kann an der Leutdiode des DVD-Laufwerks sehen, daß xmms darauf zugreift (die LCD-Anzeige von xmms und den anderen zeigt ja ebenfalls ein Abspielen an)

Im Forum http://www.bsdforen.org berichten Leute über genau dasselbe Phänomen, die Auflösung ist mir aber nicht klar.

Mal sehen was ist, wenn mein Kernel neu gebacken wurde ...
Ich hoffe, daß das lösbar ist. Die NetBSD 1.6 soll ja bugs in audio gehabt haben ...

Ich würde sagen, dass dies für die Tuner-Karten gedacht ist.


Es kann duraus sein, dass du deshalb deine Musik nicht hörst, weil du xmms nicht angewiesen hast, den Output auf die Soundkarte zu schicken.

Es gibt nämlich zwei Wege, Musik zu hören:

a) direkt von CD-ROM-Laufwerk (dafür muss das CD-ROM mit einem Output-Kabel auf das Mainboard angeschlossen sein)

b) von CD-ROM auf die Soundkarte rüber und von dieser aus auf deine Boxen

Die zweite Variante ist zu empfehlen, da nur dort die Musik auch "richtig schön" verstärkt wird ;)

Schaue nach, wo deine Musik-Outputs gehen und überprüfe in deiner Kernel-Konfig ob du:

a) das Device eingerichtet

b) Musikausgabe auf dem Device aktiviert (also audio on DEVICE)

Genau so ist es. Statt Boxen halt ein Kopfhörer, aber das ist ja egal. Kopfhörer steckt in an der korrekten Anschluss-Buchse.

Hmm, da muss ich jetzt mal 100 % genau nachfragen:
audio on DEVICE -> muss das *wörtlich* so reingeschrieben werden ? Unter Audio support gibt es einen Eintrag "audio at ..."

Ich habe eine Soundblaster Live! PCI-Karte.

Ja es muss da audio at device stehen (ich habe mich verschriebn uns stattdessen on verwendet.

Mit device ist natürlich der Treiber für deine Soundkarte (hier: emuxki) gemeint.

hmm, es läuft noch immer nicht.
Ganz egal, welchen Musik CD Player ich verwende ...

Die Soundkarte funktioniert jedoch in Verbindung mit gMplayer und ogle einwandfrei.

Um auszuschliessen, daß ein Konfigurationsfehler vorliegt, hier folgendes:

es scheint mittlerweile egal, welche Musik CD ich einlege, ich erhalte in *jedem* Fall diese Meldung am Ende

2.Controller) als Laufwerk angeben, dann sollte es laufen.
Oder zumindest ein symlink auf diese Verzeichnis.
Dann die /etc/fstab natürlich noch anpassen.

Hmm, ... eigentlich müsste es wie bei Dir laufen, aber es tut net :-(
Um 100 % sicher zu gehen wegen eines Konfigurationsfehlers, poste ich mal alle relevanten Daten, die ich habe - sozusagen als eine Verzweiflungstat ...

Meine Fragen dazu:

1) was wäre noch nötig, um einen Konfigurationsfehler aufzuspüren ?
2) welche Symlinks müsste ich setzen (habe alle bisherigen, die /dev/cd0a cd1d rcd0d betreffen, entfernt)

Wenn du sowas zu sehen bekommst, dann handelt es sich um eine kaputte CD ... leider ...


Und nochwas: eine Audio-CD kann nicht gemountet werden.

Daher spielt es keine Rolle, was im fstab steht.

Audio-CDs sind keine ISO9660-Format-CDs.

Es sei denn, du willst z.B. mp3-Dateien abspielen und hast eine Zusammenstellung auf einer CD vorhanden. Dann müsstest du ja so eine CD erst einmal mounten und dann die mp3-Lieder abspielen.

Nimm mal das Directory=multimedia aus der config von xmms raus; laß die Zeile
leer. Hab z.Zt. leider kein xmms auf dem rechner, mußte ich kurzfristig löschen um
eine abhängigkeit aufzulösen, als ich aus den sourcen installiert habe.
Alternativ das multimedia als device (symlink auf rcdod) statt rcdod

keine Sorge - ist nicht so wie: mein Auto läuft nicht !! und dabei ist kein Benzin im Tank ;-)

Wie gesagt: Sound läuft insgesamt super, bis auf Musik-CDs eben.

Hab' ich gemacht: leider ohne Erfolg. No Sound bei Musik-CDs.

Das Phänomen betrifft ALLE Player, die von Musik-CDs abspielen sollen.

Es handelt sich hier möglicherweise nicht um ein Konfigurationsproblem.

Die spezifische Fehlermeldung beim Zugriff auf eine Musik-CD ist offensichtlich ein kleiner bug, es soll einen Patch dafür geben.

Wenn ich konkreteres weiß, poste ich es hier !

Das sind aber auch zwei unterschiedliche Quellen. Und dass Du z.B. MP3s oder irgendwelche Videos mit Ton abspielen kannst, ist kein Beweis dafür, dass das Kabel vom CD-Laufwerk zur Soundkarte da ist...
Aber abgesehen davon - mach mal in einer Shell
mixerctl -a | grep input und guck nach, ob bei cd die Einstellung mute=off ist, bzw. die Lautstärke hinreichend groß.

Exakt. Probier mal mixerctl -w inputs.cd.mute=off. Mit mixerctl -w inputs.cd=x,y kannst Du dann die Lautstärke auf x und y setzen.

Es lag tatsächlich an den Mixer-Einstellungen, daß kein Sound kam, und liess sich nur über die Kommandozeile lösen. Ich fass' es immer noch nicht ;-)
