Hallo,
heute Nacht wurde ZFSv15 in FreeBSD 9-CURRENT eingefügt. Dies ist im Wesentlichen ein Bugfix-Release, wirklich neue Funktionalität gegenüber der bisher eingesetzten Version 13 gibt es nicht. Vorteile gibt es dennoch:
- Etliche behobene Fehler.
- FreeBSD ist nun gleichauf mit Solaris (nicht OpenSolaris!), kann auch dessen Pools importieren und erleichtert somit den Umstieg.
- ZFSv15 ist schneller als Version 13 und stabiler
- ZFSv15 kann Teil von FreeBSD 8.2 werden, neuere Versionen wären kaum rückportierbar
Außerdem ist ZFSv15 als ein Zwischenschritt zu sehen in nicht ganz so naher Zukunft eine deutlich neuere Version einfacher importieren zu können. Hier auch noch mal Dank an alle begeisterten Tester (*scnr*) der Patches.
