Hallo Leute :)
Freebsd 13.2 läuft soweit ganz gut,habe Firefox und Chromium als Browser aber ab und zu bleiben die beim scrollen mal hängen 3/5 Sek.
Meine Frage kann man da was einstellen?

bei mir laufen mehrere Rechner mit FreeBSD13 und ich sehe bei keinem ein solches Problem.
Deshalb denke ich, dass hier nicht die Ursache liegen wird und deshalb andere Möglichkeiten erst mal abgefragt werden müssen.

Mir fallen dann alle Sachen ein, die Leistung verbrennen können und im Zusammenhang mit Browsern stehen da Java- und Werbeblocker an, aber evtl auch die Frage nach der Beschleunigung der Graka oder auch generell, des verfügbaren RAMs. Ob X oder Wayland, ob ein Desktop-Environment, das sich viel herausnimmt, etwa auch 3D-Effekte produziert und so weiter.

Ich glaube, dass man da nicht um eine Testumgebung herum kommt, um nach und nach die Engpässe zu finden und sie evtl dann abschalten zu können.

Ganz extrem gesagt: es könnte ja schließlich auch deine Maus defekt sein und so etwas verursachen.

Hilfreich wären auf jedenfall erstmal ein Specs, also welche Hardware du hast und evtl. auch mal ob beim Browsen auch etwas reservearbeitsspeicher zur Verfügung steht. Zu wenig Arbeitsspeicher könnte sehr typisch für so ein problem sein ;)
 
Die Klassiker für sowas sind die bereits genannten Ads, wie auch immer die implementiert werden. In der Tat gibt es nur noch wenige Seiten im Netz (u.a. bsdforen.de ;) ), die Besucher nicht mit Bloatmüll zukacken. Da helfen die Plugins Adblocker Ultimate (performt bei mir besser als Adblock Plus) sowie noscript in Kombination. Letzteres braucht etwas Pflege, aber wenn man mal seine Lieblingsseiten alle eingetragen hat lüppt das prima. Falls man einen etwas besseren Router hat, kann man da bereits DNS-Blocklisten eintragen. Hat den Vorteil, dass der Müll gar nicht erst am Browser aufprallt, aber auch den Nachteil, dass eine Seite ggf. nicht richtig lädt und man gar nicht an die Blockliste denkt.

Seiten mit großen Fotogalerien oder kontinuierlichem Ladefluss durch Scrollen (lazy load) können da auch auf die Performance drücken. In beiden Fällen helfen mehr IOPS, also eine (oder mehrere im vdev) schnellere SSD und mehr RAM.

Specs wären natürlich mal gut zu wissen und generell: 50+ offene Tabs kommen auf alten Rechnern nicht so gut. ;)

Hatte hier auch dieselben Probleme ! Lange gesucht ....

Habe dann rausgefunden , wenn ich den Browser-Cache
mit "tmpfs" mounte, sind alle Probleme vorbei !
