FreeBSD auf Dedi Server --> was muss drauf?

bytecamp sagt mir nicht zu, eben weils für mich zu teuer ist.
deine anforderungen sind höher als meine, is ja kein problem, oder? ;)

ich will:
- massig traffic da ich nunmal mehr als apache+mysql laufen habe
- günstige monatspreise unter 40eus
- nen dicken packen software wie visas, confixx usw...
- nen "standard" server

nur eben mit freebsd drauf ;)
 
jetzt mal ne ganz dume frage wenn ich jezt z.b. den esel auf solch einem server laufen lassen würde würde ich da angepisst oder ist den hostern das wurst was duch die leitung leuft ?
 
naja...dem hoster isses im prinzip egal. glaube kaum das strato und 1und1 ihre netze nach filesharing ports durchforsten.

nur mußt du bedenken das du bei der anbindung von 100Mbit/s schnell an die grenzen deines freitraffic kommst. die meisten P2P server stehen nicht umsonst im ausland.
ich hab mal nen emule server testweise aufgesetzt, hat mit 2000 usern nen paar GB in knapp 6h produziert. deshalb direkt wieder abgeschaltet.

außerdem mußt du davon ausgehen, das die grünen männchen ebenfalls im netz unterwegs sind.

genauso isses mit bittorrent trackern. obwohl sie nur "verlinken" kriegen die betreiber mails von herstellern und anwälten, kann ja mal son teil posten, hab ich in nem *hust* tausch-board gefunden...

net schlecht seh ich das richtig das die schorese gef* zu werden kleich gross ist egal ob der server bei mir oder beim hoster steht ?
 
na ich denk ma es is nen großer unterschied ob sich deine leitungen durch eine relativ annonyme DSL leitung quetschen oder ob du das professionell mit ner dicken standleitung als anbindung machst ;).

fakt ist, die rootserverbetreiber kriegst du einfach aufgespürt als nen DSL filesharer...
