Ich habe mir für meine SATA-Platten eine Promise SATAII 300 TX2 plus-PCI-Karte geholt, über wleche ich die Platten anschliessen möchte. Leider kann ich die Platten nicht ansprechen.

So wie es aussieht wird der Controller nicht von FreeBSD unterstützt. Weiss jemand ob er unter 6.0-Stable oder gar Current funktioniert? Oder was ich machen kann (ohne mir einen neuen Controller zu holen)?

Der Controller wird derzeit noch nicht unterstuetzt. Du findest mittels google aber einen passenden Patch, der dafuer sorgt das PCI device dem Treiber zugeordnet wird und somit funktioniert.
Ich habe zur Stunde gerade keinen Zugriff auf den Rechner. Sorry.
 
@j_t: Besten Dank für den Tip. Dachte mir schon dass irgendwo was sein müsste. Leider hat mich Google ein Wenig im Stich gelassen (oder mein Suchstrategie war sch...e). Wo kann man den Patch finden?

Auch auf die Gefahr hin mich als totalen Anfänger zu outen, wie spiele ich den Patch ein? In etwa so?

Nur fürs Geschichtsbuch: Der Patch ist spätestens seit 6.2 nicht mehr notwendig. Der Chip auf dem Controller hat die selbe ID wie der auf der TX4 (die Version mit 4 SATA Ports) und wird daher als solcher erkannt. Der entsprechende Treiber funktioniert bis dato ohne Probleme.
