Seit einigen Jahren betreibe ich Services fuer mich selbst (Mail, XMPP, ZNC, ..) auf einer virtuellen Maschine die auf einer physischen Kiste laeuft, welche eigentlich mein Testsystem ist - und dementsprechend auch nur maessig auf Redundanz ausgelegt ist (einzelne SSD, kein redundantes Netzteil, etc.). Das funktioniert zwar so weit ganz gut, ist mir aber immer schon ein Dorn im Auge gewesen. Dementsprechend moechte ich diese Services jetzt auf einen kleinen dedizierten Server umziehen und eine klare Trennung zwischen Spielwiese und Produktionsbetrieb durchfuehren. Mir ist bewusst, dass sich das auch perfekt auf einem kleinen VPS hosten laesst, ich will aber (aus persoenlicher Preferenz) meine eigene Hardware.

Ich bin grundsaetzlich relativ offen, einige Einschraenkungen habe ich allerdings doch:

  • Nicht Hetzner oder OVH (oder eine der Submarken wie SoYouStart und Kimsufi), und auch kein Reseller der dortigen Produkte - ich habe nichts gegen die Firmen, aber ich bin nicht so der Freund davon, wenn alle Welt ihr Zeug bei ein und derselben Bude ablagert
  • IPv6 ist mir wichtig (erschreckend, dass man das 2018 noch dazuschreiben muss ..)
  • Der Anbieter muss die Verwendung eigener Images ermoeglichen - ich mag OpenBSD, und FDE
  • Hardwareanforderungen sind an und fuer sich wahrscheinlich von jedem Anbieter erfuellbar, aber zumindest zwei Festplatten (ideal sind natuerlich SSDs) > 120GB sollten es dann doch sein
  • Hartes Limit sind 60 Euronen / Monat
  • Bonuspunkte fuer: Serverstandort Oesterreich / Deutschland, Unternehmensstandort Oesterreich / Deutschland, keine Einrichtungsgebuehr
Welche Empfehlungen hat die Community? Irgendjemand, den ich ganz dringend vermeiden sollte?

Post Scriptum: Ich hab auch kein Problem damit, die Hardware selbst zu kaufen und Housing zu machen, also wenn jemand ein unschlagbar guenstiges Angebot hat .. nehme ich auch gerne. :D
 
Leider hast du den Hoster mit dem ich nun seit 3 Jahren sehr zufrieden bin schon ausgeschlossen. Ansonsten kann ich nur von 1&1 und Server4You eindringlich abraten.

Leider haben sie die Preise kürzlich drastisch angehoben. Die sind zwar immer noch im Rahmen, aber davor waren das halt richtige Kracher. Den Start-2-M-SATA gabs für 16,-/Monat netto.

Davon abgesehen bin ich bisher zufrieden. Sind Franzosen mit Datacentern in FR und NL.

Das lässt sich mit besserer Redundanz aber nur bedingt vereinbaren, da Du Dich dann selber um Spareparts/Verbringung/Einbau kümmern musst. ;)

Ist eine Marke von myLoc, unter denen sie, wie ich glaube, ältere/gekündigte Systeme von Webtropia vergünstigt anbieten (quasi Second Hand, vergleichbar zur Hetzner Serverbörse). Preislich recht interessant, da z.T. "echte" Server-Hardware auf Supermicro-Basis, dann sogar inkl. IPMI-Zugang (!), was eigene Images ermöglicht.

Auf die habe ich ja komplett vergessen, danke. Die sind mir momentan am sympathischsten, nachdem ich lokal (.at) nichts wirklich brauchbares finden konnte.
Das lässt sich mit besserer Redundanz aber nur bedingt vereinbaren, da Du Dich dann selber um Spareparts/Verbringung/Einbau kümmern musst. ;)
Ein vernuenftiges System mit RAID, zwei Stromkreisen und redundantem Upstream waere schon einmal um Welten besser als das, was es jetzt ist. ;)

Heute hab ich einen Intel Xeon E3-1275 mit ECC und deinen Anforderungen gesehen. und 29€/Monat

  • 4x RAM 4096 MB DDR3 ECC
  • 2x HDD SAS 300 GB
  • Redundante Stromversorgung über zwei Netzteile
  • NIC 1 Gbit - Intel 82574L
  • RAID Controller 4-Port SATA PCI-E - LSI MegaRAID SAS 9260-4i

Ich war eine Zeit lang bei Webtropia, allerdings ist deren IPv6 Routing kaputt oder es lag einfach an mir, dass ich es mit OpenBSD nicht hinbekommen habe. Bei Hetzner läuft es wunderbar. Es ist zwar häufig auch Commodity Hardware in Regalen (ja, auch die Xeons mit ECC und Intel laufen dann auf Asus Boards), aber das stört mich für meinen privaten Server nicht so. Die beiden Platten laufen in einem softraid mirror und nachts geht das Backup verschlüsselt auf deren Backupserver.

Ich weiß das du nicht zu Hetzner willst aber ich fand das hier viele deiner Anforderungen erfüllt sind. Deshalb habe ich es genannt.....
 
Eigene Images bei DS zu finden scheint nicht leicht... ich hab zumindest bisher noch keinen gefunden.
Ich bin seit Jahren bei Euserv ... dort gibts eine, wenn auch ältere, OpenBSD Version von der ich bisher problemlos upgraden konnte. (über den nicht empfohlenen Weg)
Preise fand ich bisher auch ganz ok
