Hallo Leute!

Ich bekomme nach startx folgende Ausgabe:

xauth: (argv):1: bad display name "basti.home.org:0" in remove comand

Meine Matrox G550 wird von X erkannt. (logdatei im Anhang)

Ich habe noch das Module mga_hal.o von hier ftp://ftp.matrox.com/pub/mga/archive/linux/2003/mgadrivers-3.0.tgz nach /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers kopiert. Sollte denke ich mal richtig sein oder?

Dies hier http://www.bsdforen.de/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2427&highlight=matrox+g550 hat mir auch nicht weiter geholfen.

bin ich der einzige bei dem der anhang der xfree86.log datei leer ist ?
schau dir mal deine /etc/hosts an und ob überhaupt eine xfree86.log datei angelegt wird unter /var/log....

Die Datei wird definitiv erstellt.
Ich habe jetzt die /etc/hots mal angepasst und jetzt kommt nach der eingabe von startx als letzte Zeile:

Es geht mit und ohne nicht.

Er sucht beim start die .Xauthority, welche leer ist schreibt eine neue, benuzt diese und wenn ich wieder in der konsole wieder schreiben kann ist sie wieder leer.
Hat das evtl. was damit zu tun?

ähm, mal 'ne doofe Frage:
Wieso überhaupt den Treiber selbst bauen?
Bei mir läuft auch 'ne G550, mit FBSD-4.8-Release und dem mitgeliefertem mga-Treiber (von XFree86) tadellos, seit 30min sogar
im Xinerama-Modus mit 3200x1200er Auflösung, bisher absolut
fehlerfrei...
oder brauchts das 3D-Gewurstel tatsächlich???
Ich hatte bisher danach jedenfalls noch kein Bedürfnis ;)

Auf Wunsch kann ich ja mal meine Konfigurationsdatei anhängen.

ja, genau so hab ichs gemacht.

Er hat bei mir /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/mga_hal.o verlangt. Hab es dann nach der oben genannten Anleitung eingespielt.

@Gregor: Wäre seht nett wenn du deine XFree86Config mal mit anhängst. 3D is mir im Moment egal, bin froh wenns mal läuft.

Ach ich hatte noch gar nicht erwähnt, dass ich FreeBSD 5.2.1 nutze. :rolleyes:

also bei mir hat die XFree86-Installation nicht nach der mga-HAL
verlangt - es kommt zwar beim Start irgendwas damit, daß er auf Grund
der fehlenden mga-HAL das DRI beim zweiten Bildschirm nicht verwenden
kann, ist mir aber egal - ich lege viel Wert auf gute 2D-Darstellung,
und da bin ich bisher mit Matrox immer sehr gut gefahren ;)

Anmerkung:
Ich weiß, daß der F78 etwas "unterfordert" ist mit dieser Modeline,
aber mir reichen die 80Hz, die die beiden liefern.

Aber auch hier geht der Dank an die deutschsprachige Mailingliste,
ohne die ich diese Konfiguration nie geschafft hätte - so eine
Konfiguration ist ja schließlich nicht so ganz ohne...

Xinerama.", vom 18.10.2003, da stehen dann ein paar mehr Tipps drinnen).

Hi

Danke für die Config, hat aber nichts gebracht. Nachdem ich startx eingebe, kommt immernoch "Waiting the X Server to shut down" ohne einen anderen Fehler auszugeben.

@Gregor: Hast du im Kernel irgendwas für die Karte mit eingebaut?

edit: Ich installier jetzt mal alles neu und mach dann mal /usr/ports/x11-server/XFree86-4-Server-snap drauf und schau dann mal ob ich was hinbekomme. Ich sag dann später mal bescheid...

PS: Ich weiß, is schlechte Angewohnheit von Windows her ;'(

Nee, du brauchst nicht neu zu installieren, das bring nix, denn dann
hast du das Problem ja ganz bestimmt wieder - FreeBSD ist
wirklich kein Windows, wo es manchmal hilft.
(Außer du hast das System schon so "zerkonfiguriert", dann könnte es helfen).

Im Kernel habe ich betreffend VGA nur das hier:

So, jetzt funtionierts mit der gleichen Config wie zuvor.
Ich glaub ich hätte nicht dem dem Modul mga_hal.o "herumpfuschen" sollen. Aber is ja jetzt auch egal.
