Neuling: DSL funktioniert nicht

Hi!

Ich bin BSD-Neuling und leider funktioniert meine DSL-Verbindung nicht (bin bei 1und1).
Ich habe diverse howtos gelesen, aber irgendwie komme ich nicht weiter.

Vielleicht kann jemand von euch mir Config-Dateien, Log-Dateien und Fehlermeldung mehr anfangen.

Ein Aufruf von ppp liefert:

Die Datei /var/log/ppp.log existiert nicht (mehr).
Wollte sie löschen, um nicht seitenweise meine alten versuche aufzulisten. Und danach wurde sie nicht neu angelegt. Nun habe ich eine leere Datei angelegt und ihr (nach meinem Wissen) mittels chmod 777 ppp.log auch alle Rechte gegeben, aber die Datei bleibt leer...

Wenn Du die Verbdindung aufgebaut hast, was ist der output von "ifconfig"? Gibt es ein Gerät "tun0"?
Gibt es eine /etc/resolv.conf wenn die "Verbindung aufgebaut ist", und steht in dieser etwas drin?

Was anderes, hat Du das richtige Kabel für Deinen ATA Kram? Das Zeug fällt ja in den PIO Mode zurück...

Dasil heisst zwar "DSL Modem" hat aber mit Modem
eigentlich sehr wenig zu tun, eher ist es ein Router, also spare Dir den ganten PPP Krempel.

Dein tcpdump zeigt Dir aber des Rätsels Lösung (wieso eigentlich tcpdump? ifconfig -a hätte genügt)
Du hast eine installierte Ethernet Karte, ihr aber
keine IPNr gegeben. Da aber die Ethernet Karte mit dem
DSL Router verbunden ist (oder läuft das wirklich über SIO?) sollte sie auch eine IP Adr aus dem nichtroutbaren Bereich haben. Ebenso der DSL Router im gleichen IP Seqment. Der DSL Router sollte dann das NAT auslösen

Bearbeite in /etc/rc.conf die Zeile:
ifconfig_ed0="inet ......" mit Deinen Werten
defaultrouter="Deine Router Adresse"
hostname="meincompi@zuhause.de"
.
Die Datei resolv.conf nicht vergessen und die
IP des nameservers eintragen.

Ich habe zwar mit DSL noch nicht gearbeitet, aber so sollte das laufen

habe die if_config hinzugefügt jetzt kommt beim tcpdump keine fehlermeldung mehr, allerdings funktioniert es auch nicht. Die RouterIp konnte ich nicht hinzufügen, weil ich sie nicht kenne...

Die resolv.conf habe ich angelegt und zwei nameserver eingetragen, die aus dem howto von saintjoe.

die datei gibts, da habe ich zwei Nameserver eingetragen. Sie wird während des verbindugstaufbaus nicht geändert.

Was anderes, hat Du das richtige Kabel für Deinen ATA Kram? Das Zeug fällt ja in den PIO Mode zurück...

Ne, ich habe die damals nicht an den UDMA100 - Controller angeschlossen, sondern mit alten Kabeln an den normalen Cotroller. Da ich quasi nichts festplattenintensives mache und die auch nicht zu den schnellsten gehören, ist mir das aber auch relativ egal...

Ist zwar jetzt mehr oder weniger nur ein Schuss ins Blaue, aber probier es doch einfach mal mit dieser ppp.conf aus diesem Howto.

Die hatte ich als erstes gefunden... Allerdings habe ich es mittels der Module gemacht, keinen Kernel gebaut. funktionierte leider auch nicht.

Tja, nur leider bekommt Dein virtuelles tun0 keine IP zugewiesen.
Ist denn "ed0" auch die Netzwerkkarte die zum DSL-"Modem" geht?
Wenn ja, dann solltest Du in der /etc/rc.conf folgendes für diese Karte eintragen:

ifconfig_ed0="up"

Alle anderen IP-Zuweisungen für diese Karte entfernen, da diese nur für den DSL-connect gedacht ist. Rechner neu starten.

Was steht denn eigentlich in Deiner /var/log/ppp.log?

Die existiert nicht... habe sie gelöscht, um die ganzen alten fehlermeldungen loszuwerden und zu sehen, was bei einem einloggen passiert. Seitdem wurde sie nicht mehr angelegt. habe dann eine leere datei erstellt, allerdings wird da auch nix reingeschrieben.


Sorry, mehr konnte ich nicht ausprobieren, hatte heute wenig zeit für FreeBSD. Melde mich, sobald ich deine Tipps probiert habe.

Sorry für die Verzögerung, hatte in der zwischenzeit viel zu tun.

Da mein System noch quasi garnicht konfiguriert war, habe ich es einfach mal mit einer kompletten neuinstallation versucht. Leider ohne Erfolg. Nun ist mir aufgefallen, dass die ed0 zwar eine IP zugewisen bekommt, aber nicht active ist. Und tatsächlich kommt während des Bootvorgangs und während der ppp-verbindung ein device timeout für ed0.

Was will mir diese Meldung sagen? Ich habe einen Realtek 8029-Chipsatz, das Ganze müsste NE2000-kompatibel sein.

Als Fehlerhinweis m Hanbuch steht unter 5.5:

Dies wird meistens durch einen Interruptkonflikt verursacht (z.B., wenn zwei Karten den selben Interrupt benutzen)

......

Einige NE2000 kompatible Karten melden diesen Fehler, wenn keine Verbindung am UTP-Eingang existiert oder wenn das Kabel nicht eingesteckt ist.

Die Verbindung besteht allerdings, somit tippe ich auf ersteren Hinweis. Ich habe nur keine Ahnung, wie ich das ändern kann? Hat evtl. nochmal jemand Quellen für mich? Unter Goolge finde ich auch nicht wirklich was dazu...

Steck die Karte mal in einen anderen freien PCI Slot. Kein Scherz, das hilft seltsamerweise ab und an.

Wenn ich Dich richtig verstanden habe, dann existiert ein interface "tun0" nach der Einwahl? Output von "ifconfig -a"

Wenn es nach dem umstecken nun funktioniert, dann soll das wohl am board liegen. Meist hilft es die Karte näher an den AGP Port zu stecken, ab und an auch genau andersrum.
Warum und wieso, oder was die technischen Details sein, keine Ahnung.
Is mir auch wurscht, ich denke da an schrottige hardware, hauptsache es geht.
