Socks5 nicht mehr verfügbar?

Hi allerseits,

habe gerade bei uns in der Firma einen neuen FreeBSD-Rechner aufgesetzt. Leider funktioniert cvsup allerdings nicht, da wir einen Proxy haben, der cvsup nicht rauslässt. Glücklicherweise gibt es aber auch einen Socks5-Server. Problem ist nur, dass sich der Socks5-Port nicht richtig installieren lässt. Aufgrund von Lizenzbestimmung muss man ja glaube ich die Sourcen direkt vom NEC-Server runterladen .... nur, da kann man sie nicht mehr herunterladen. Was nun?

SOCKS servers are a form of proxy that are commonly used
in firewalled LAN environments to allow access between networks,
and often to the Internet.
The problem is that most applications don't know how to gain
access through SOCKS servers.
This means that network based applications
that don't understand SOCKS are very limited in networks they can reach.
An example of this is simple 'telnet'.
If you're on a network firewalled from the internet
with a SOCKS server for outside access,
telnet can't use this server and thus can't telnet out to the Internet.

tsocks' role is to allow these non SOCKS aware applications
(e.g telnet, ssh, ftp etc) to use SOCKS without any modification.
It does this by intercepting the
calls that applications make to establish network connections
and negotating them through a SOCKS server as necessary.

Es gibt noch mehr Socks-Projekte, mit obigen fahr ich aber ganz gut. CVs muss ich auch ab und zu mal durch SOCKS tunneln.

Hi Leute,

hat leider nicht geklappt. Bei uns in der Firma wurde eine neuer Socks-Server installiert, der anscheinend nur noch mit den kommerziellen Produktion von Permeo zusammenarbeitet ;'(

Aber: Ich brauche die Socks-Verbindung hauptsächlich zum Aktualisieren des Systems per cvsup. Einen relativ aktuellen Ports-Stand kann ich ja auch per FTP ziehen. Da ist mein Problem also schon mal gelöst. Aber wie sieht es bei den System-Sourcen aus? Die kann man zwar auch runterladen, allerdings weiß ich nicht, ob die auch aktualisiert werden bei Security-Fixes etc. Weiß das jemand von Euch?
