Bildschirmauflösung bsd --> KDE

Hallo zusammen

Ich habe FreeBSD nun zum ersten mal installiert, bin daher noch neu hier.
Ein problem habe ich jedoch noch, wie bringe ich KDE dazu das ich eine Bildschirmauflösung von 1280x800 einstellen kann?

Die möglichen Auflösungen hängen direkt von xorg und dem Grafiktreiber ab. Bei Intel-Treibern muss man wohl mit Zusatzprogrammen nachhelfen.

Falls du den Vesa-Treiber verwendest kannst du nur Standard-Auflösungen verwenden. Da ist mit Breitbild nichts zu machen.

Ich habe die Auflösung die ich möchte unter Modes hinzugefügt. Dann möchte ich im Control Center von KDE unter Peripherals->Display meine gewünschte auflösung ändern, sehe jedoch eben die Auflösung 1280x800 nicht, was mache ich falsch :-)?

Falls Kamikaze Recht hat, wovon ich mal erfahrungsgemäß ausgehe ;-),
kannst Du 1280x800 nicht verwenden, da Du den VESA Treiber benutzt.
Wird Deine Grafikkarte nicht von xorg unterstützt oder warum nimmst Du den vesa Treiber?
 
Bevor Du dich an KDE ran machst, solltest du erstmal die Xorg-Konfig testen. Wird die Auflösung überhaupt unabhängig von KDE dargestellt? Wenn du es eingetragen hast, mußt du auch deinen Rechner neu booten, dann bekommt KDE erst die neuen Einträge mit.

Das mit den VESA-Einschränkungen weiß ich nicht. Aber hast du eine solch exotische Grafikkarte, das du dich auf VESA einschränken mußt?
 
Anscheinend hast du ja ein ATI Board. Provier doch mal Driver "radeon" statt Driver "vesa".

Also grafikkarte habe ich ATI Mobility Radeon X1300 welcher Treiber läuft da am besten, und kann man die auch über ports installieren? dank gruss andi
 
Der Treiber radeon ist dafür am besten (geht allerdings nur 2D). Der ist bereits installiert, du musst ihn lediglich in der xorg.conf eintragen.
 
Ok Danke vielmals, werde dies heute abend ausprobieren. Was währe wenn ich nach einer Zeit meine Grafikkarte 3D benötige um mit glscene 3D animationen zu programmieren? Muss ich dann einen anderen Treiber installieren?

Dann brauchst du eine Grafikkarte für die es überhaupt 3D-Fahige Treiber gibt. Bei einem Notebook hast du da schlechte Karten. Auf einem normalen Rechner kann man da 'ne alte Radeon 9200 SE reinsetzen, die sind billig und so ziemlich das neuste wofür es noch Treiber gibt. Alternativ gibt es für NVIDIA Karten Blobs, allerdings nur für i386. Und ich weiß nicht was alles unterstützt wird, aber die sind auf jeden Fall neuer.

Habe das mit radeon mal ausprobiert, wenn ich einfach den driver wechsle startet mein x-server nicht mehr es kommt eine fehlermeldung no screens found, muss man da noch was anderes zusätzlich installieren oder einstellen, ist der Treiber von radeon in der standartinstallation von bsd schon enthalten oder nicht?

Wie es aussieht ist für die X1300 nicht einmal 2D-Untertstützung vorhanden. Das überrascht mich.
 
Aber das ist ja ein Sch... (sorry) wenn der radeon treiber nicht mal in 2D läuft. Wie würdest du zumindest die xorg.conf einstellen das wenigstens mal die Auflösung dargestellt wird?

Ändere den Eintrag <Modes "1280x800"> einfach mit deiner eigene Auflösung Bsp. <Modes "640x480"> oder eben was deine grafikkarte und bildschirm unterstützen.

Also die Auflösung umstellen muß auf jeden Fall gehen! Habe ich auch hinbekommen. Ich habe hier meine xorg.conf für meine ATI Radeon gepostet, kannst du vielleicht 1:1 übernehmen und nur noch die Modes anpassen.

HW-Beschleunigung habe ich aber bei mir auch nicht hinbekommen.
