Namensauflösung in FBSD, wo und wie?

wer weiß, ob und wie man die Namensauflösung unter FBSD beeinflussen kann?
Wo wird z.B. die Reihenfolge (/etc/hosts, DNS...) geregelt?
Kann man dazu auch Plugins schreiben, so dass man z.B. auch mdns auf Port 5353 hinzufügen kann?

Ich glaube du suchst die /etc/nsswitch.conf. Dort wird die Reihenfolge der Anfragen festgelegt. Weiteres siehe unter "man nsswitch.conf"

Jaja, das hab ich mittlerweile auch. Nur hab ich in /etc/ keine nsswitch.conf, und in /usr/src/etc ist auch nichts. Auch habe ich keine Beispieldatei Hmmmm
Ich wollte ehh bei 5.3 alles neu aufsetzen, vielleicht hab ich dann ja mehr Gklück :-)

falls Du keine nsswitch.conf hast. Kannst Du auch traditionell die /etc/resolv.conf nehme.

Code: 
nameserver 192.168.0.1
Du musst dann halt nur diese IP (192.168.0.1) gegen die IP Deines Nameservers tauschen.
