Probleme mit Xorg, schwarzer Bildschirm

Hallo zusammen,
ich bin vor kurtzem auf freebsd 6.2 umgestiegen und auch gleich von Xfree86 auf Xorg.
Unter Xfree86 is eigentlich alles gelaufen, nur Xorg macht jezt ein paar Probleme...
wen ich startx ausführe bekomme ich nur einen schwarzen Bildschirm.
In der kiste ist eine ATI MOBILITY RADEON X7000 verbaut.
kan mir da jemand weiterhelfen?

Hallo zusammen,
ich bin vor kurtzem auf freebsd 6.2 umgestiegen und auch gleich von Xfree86 auf Xorg.
Unter Xfree86 is eigentlich alles gelaufen, nur Xorg macht jezt ein paar Probleme...
wen ich startx ausführe bekomme ich nur einen schwarzen Bildschirm.
In der kiste ist eine ATI MOBILITY RADEON X7000 verbaut.
kan mir da jemand weiterhelfen?

Lass mich raten: Du hast aber nicht XFree86 unter FreeBSD genutzt, oder?

Ich schätze mal, dass du den X-Server nicht konfiguriert hast und das es Probleme mit deiner Grafikkarte gibt.

Arbeite mal folgende Schritte durch:

Der Start des X-Servers ist nicht ohne. Lies dir genau die zugehörige Dokumentation durch. Was X eigentlich macht, ist nicht viel mehr, als ein grauer Bildschirm mit einem X drauf. Erst in der .xinitrc kannst du für einen Benutzer dieses verhalten ändern. Es gibt auch globale Einstellungen, die von denen der user in ihrem home-Verzeichnis überschrieben werden.
Das ist mit der Empfehlung versucht worden, herauszufinden, dass du die .xinitrc mal prüfen/verändern sollst. Selbst mit funktionierender Konfiguration und laufenden Treibern muss der X-Server auch wissen, was er da jetzt starten soll und das erfährt er in der .xinitrc.

Was die Konfiguration und den nötigen Treiber anbelangt, muss dieser natürlich auch auf deinem System verfügbar sein. So gehe ich sehr häufig den Weg, eine Knoppix oder andere GNU/Linux live-CD zu booten und erst mal zu sehen, wie denn hier der X-Server konfiguriert wird. Meist konnte ich die Einstellungen einfach übernehmen. Die grundsätzliche Erkennung der HW und das entsprechende Laden der Module kann natürlich nicht einfach übernommen werden. Da ist gegebenenfalls Tüftelei angesagt.

Also nochmals: du hast offensichtlich zwei Dinge gleichzeitig geändert und deshalb kann nicht einfach gesagt werden, was dir einen Erfolg brachte. Das musst du nun herausfinden und weiter machen.

Es hörte sich für mich so an, als sei dir hier einiges unklar. Wenn dem nicht so ist, sollten dich meine Ausführungen nicht beleidigen. Bin selbst ziemlich unbedarft und versuche es, so gut ich kann.

ich hab anscheinend ein ähnliches Problem. :/

Ich hab 'ne Radeon x800 GTO und hab es schon mit den ati und vesa Treibern probiert. Nachdem ich bemerkt habe, dass keine .xinitrc und .xsession dateien in ~/ existieren, habe ich diese ebenso per 'echo "exec xterm" >.xinitrc' und 'echo "exec xterm" >.xsession' erstellt. Leider hat beides nichts gebracht. Ich hab sogar schon eine de- und reinstallation von Xorg, sowie ein portmanager -a gemacht (aus Verzweiflung eher ^^'), aber meine beiden Monitore bleiben schwarz, bzw. gehen in den Standbymodus (als wenn ich den Rechner ausschalten würde). :(

Gibt's da vllt. noch mehr Tipps? Hat's vllt. auch was damit zu tun, dass ich FreeBSD auf einer Festplatte installiert habe, von der ich nich weiß, ob sie master oder slave ist (hat FreeBSD da vllt. Probleme mit, wenn ich sie als Slave laufen lasse?).
 
Okay...hier mal 'ne Noobfrage, über die sich auch jeder lustig machen darf:

Kann es sein, dass meine Grafikkarte die amd64 Version von FreeBSD nicht leiden kann, bzw. dass die vielleicht damit buggy ist? T_T
 
man kann auch einfach einen Login-manager wie kdm verwenden, dann muss man nicht xinitrc anlegen....

@Wickermoon: Um Dateien mit einem Punkt als ersten Buchstaben im Namen (versteckte Dateien) zu sehen muss man "ls -a" benutzen.

Okay okay, ich glaub ich hab da wirklich zu wenig preis gegeben. :)

Also: Ich hab einen AMD Athlon 64 3200+ mit 2 GB RAM, einer ATi x800 GTO und zwei Monitoren. Ich habe 4 Festplatten in meinem Rechner, davon eine am SATA-Master, von der auch WindowsXP bootet, auf der jedoch NICHT FreeBSD installiert ist. FreeBSD hingegen ist auf einer, als Slave gejumperten IDE Festplatte, installiert, die ich, wenn ich BSD booten will, im BIOS als 1. Boot Device einstelle.
Die Installation (zumindest die Zweite) verlief auch reibungslos. Wenn ich hingegen GDM versuche zu starten, gehen beide Bildschirme komplett aus. Wenn ich Xorg -config xorg.config.new verwende passiert ebenfalls das gleiche (egal ob ati oder vesa Treiber und ja, ich bin in meinem home-Verzeichnis ;)). Ich hab keine Ahnung, woran es liegt. Selbst mit der i386 Version hab ich Probleme. Ich schiebe schon langsam die Schuld auf die ATi Graka. :(


Edit 1: Ach ja, als Warnmeldung krieg ich bei der Benutzung von Xorg -configure: "(WW) RADEON: No matching Device section for instance (BusID :1:0:1) found.

Ich schätz einfach mal, dass er einfach keine section für den zweiten monitor erstellen konnte, was nicht weiter das Problem darstellen sollte, oder?
 
Als ungelernter in Sachen Unix ist es immer besser, erst mal zu lesen. Trotzdem schalte ich mich immer wieder gerne ein, auch auf die Gefahr hin, mich als unbedarft zu outen.
Was ich bereits gelernt habe, das ist aber, daß die Konfiguration des X-Servers durchaus nicht trivial ist.
Das hat damit zu tun, daß der sehr viel mehr darstellt, als einfach nur ein Treiber für Grafik-Karten zu sein. Als Anfänger darf man wohl jubeln, eine laufende Konfiguration überhaupt zu schaffen und wenn dann auch noch über das Netzwerk auf unterschiedliche Rechner grafisch Zugriff möglich ist, endet meine Wunschliste schon. Viel mehr ist aber möglich. Zwei Monitore und mehrere Grafik-Karten würde ich mir nicht zutrauen.
Deshalb möchte ich fragen, wie das eigentlich bei dir ist.
Bist du in solchen DIngen erfahren, brauchst du Anfängerhilfe oder weißt du schon, was du da machst und willst. Du eröffnest nämlich so, daß man einen Anfänger erwartet, doch dann kommst du gleich mit sehr speziellen Problemen.

Anders, als bei Free-BSD, richten viele GNU/Linux und Desktop-BSD eine grafische Umgebung weitgehend selbsttätig ein. Ob das jeweils auch Optimum ist, mag fraglich bleiben, doch es kann einem Nutzer zunächst Konfigurationsschritte ersparen. Hattest du jemals so etwas laufen? Vielleicht ein Knoppix? was passierte da?

Das sieht so ganz gut aus, sogar die 3D-Beschleunigung scheint zu gehen. Wahrscheinlich wird die Wiederholfrequenz des Monitors falsch ermittelt. Leg' mal eine xorg.conf an und trage dort manuell Werte ein.
 
und wieder der Hinweis auf andere Systeme, bei denen es vielleicht funktioniert: dann einfach am Monitor die guten Werte ablesen. Probieren kann sehr viel länger dauern.
 
Hmm...also ich hab sonst leider keine anderen Systeme, bei denen man die horizontale Wiederholfrequenz einstellen muss :/ Und wenn ich das richtig gesehen habe, dann sind in der erzeugten xorg.config.new die Frequenzen sogar schon richtig eingetragen (1. Monitor ist ein Flatron L1972H LCD für den auch die Frequenzen eingetragen werden und der 2. ein Belinea CRT k.A. welches Modell, der ja laut Fehlermeldung nicht eingetragen wird), sprich: 56-75 Hz Refresh Rate und 30-83kHz HorizRefresh (Die Werte habe ich zumindest im Internet bei Verkäufern gefunden).

Okay, ich hab's. Endlich läuft X, Gnome, KDE, usw.

Ich glaub es lag daran, dass ich X immer per Xorg -config xorg.config.new gestartet habe, er diese natürlich net finden konnte (jeißt ja auch xorg.conf.new) und daher die standardeinstellungen benutzt hat. -_- Mit dem vesa treiber geht's jetzt. Aber is schon schade, dass ich meine ati nich mit den ati treibern laufen lassen kann. T_T
 
Starte mal von einem Terminal aus xvidtune. Da drückst du dann auf den Button show und es wird dir im Terminal eine Modeline rausschmeißen. Die trägst du in deine xorg.conf ein und versuchst damit noch mal den radeon Treiber.
