xorg 6.9 und radeon

Hallo,

hat schon jemand Erfahrungen mit Xorg 6.9 in Verbindung mit halbwegs aktueller Radeonkarten (X300, X600,...) gesammelt?
Funktioniert der Support fuer 3D Beschleunigung? Hat die Verwendung der 3D Beschleunigung Einfluss auf die Faehigkeit das System in den Suspend zu gehen?
 
Ich habe eine R200, die Performance ist bei der Umstellung um fast 40% (frames in glxgears) gestiegen, den Suspend kann ich aber immer noch nicht verwenden.

Hab ne X800gto agp (r423), 3D-Beschleunigung läuft, bis jetzt noch keine Abstürze wegen 3D, aber die MesaLibs aus den Ports (6.4.2) sind etwas buggy, dh es funktioniert nicht jede 3D-"Anwendung", sprich Spiele. NWN läuft, UT2004 läuft nicht, Quake4 auch nicht. Mit MesaLibs aus cvs läuft UT2004 wieder, Quake4 immer noch nicht. Ich denke so ab Xorg-7.1 wirds wohl vernünftiger laufen.

OK. Ich habe das Update gestern abend noch gewagt. Subjektiv fuehlt sich mit der Desktop keineswegs langsamer an...
Dann galt es endlich drm zum Laufen zu uebereden:

* mit radeon_load in loader.conf erreiche ich nichts, soll aber kein Wunder sein
* radeondrm und drm fest im Kernel erkennt die X300 beim Booten, X haengt sich allerdings sogleich auf und das Thinkpad steht
* Verlasse ich mich darauf, dass X selbststaendig etwas laedt, so steht im X.log:

Die neuen Mesa-Treiber sind in /usr/ports/dri, vorher bitte /usr/ports/dri-devel und ähnlichen alten Krams deinstallieren. Das Radeon drm-modul von 6-Stable sollte eigentlich ausreichen, ansonsten kannst Du die cvs-sources benutzen, Du brauchst allerdings noch nen Patch dafür, den findest Du hier:

Du meinst sicher /usr/ports/graphics/dri und /usr/ports/graphics/dri-devel ?
 
Installiert habe ich /usr/ports/graphics/dri-devel. Ein Haengen von X wird danit aber wohl kaum zusammenhaengen, denke ich.
 
Ja, vorher waren die ohne "-devel" installiert. Die Codebasis scheint allerdings die gleiche zu sein.

dri-devel: PORTVERSION= 6.2.20050719
dri: PORTVERSION= 6.4.2

Sind nicht identisch :). Seit Xorg-6.9 in den ports ist, ist dri-devl hoffnungslos veraltet.

Hallo.

Ich habe fast das gleiche problem allerdings habe ich auch nen kernel meldung.

radeondrm und drm selber sind fest im kernel drin.

module vga/radeon already exists
Modules vga/radeon faildes tod register: 17

ansonsten ist der fehler identisch mit j_t
 
Hallo!

Ich hab ne X600pcie, konnte sie aber bis jetzt noch nicht zur Mitarbeit bewegen können, weder 2d noch 3d, so muss ich mit dem vesa Treiber arbeiten ;'(
 
Hie nun das X.log, welches dem Start mit einkompiliertem drm und radeondrm entstammt. Wie man sieht fehlt eigentlich ein Stueck; das T43 hing sich auf. Die X300 ist uebrigens auch PCIE.

Ersteinmal fällt auf, das Glcore scheitert, danach aber erfolgreich von DRI geladen wird. Vielleicht solltest du das in deiner xorg.conf hinter DRI stellen. Das ist aber wohl blos Kosmetik.

Du solltest erst mal wieder zum aktuellen Treiber graphics/dri zurückkehren.

Vielleicht solltet ihr die Sachen aus dem Kernel wieder herausnehmen. Es sollte auch alles mit Modulen funktionieren.
 
ich habe ein ähnliches problem. drm und radeondrm ist im kernel.
beim starten von X erhalte ich immer ein:
[dri] radeon.o kernel module version is 1.16.0 but version 1.17.0 or newer is needed

Den Patch den Du noch benötigst findest du auf der ersten Seite. Der r300-Treiber verweigert bei zu altem drm die Arbeit komplett, die cvs-sourcen des drm arbeiten aber schön mit meinem 6-Stable zusammen.

Also meine Radeon Mobility 9700 kann jezt auch 3D beschleunigen:

Dafür hab ich im 2D Betrieb so komische Farbverläufe, sieht aus wie (schlechte) 2D Beschleunigung, hier mal nen Screenshot von Openoffice:

und mein DualHead Betrieb geht nicht mehr. Nur MergedFB und Clone, aber ich will zwei unabhängige Displays, so wie früher :)
Hier mal meine alte xorg.conf, mit der es ging. Anhang anzeigen xorg.conf.txt

Wenn jemand ne Idee hat, wär das super, auf freebsd-x11 konnte mir jedenfalls keiner helfen.
