Ja ja, ich weiß. Ich hab nur mit Logitech zu viel Ärger gehabt (Garantie abgelaufen, Maus schrott) und außer M$ und Logitech gibt es nunmal keine guten Maushersteller. Außerdem sind die Mäuse das einzige von denen, das was taugt!

Obwohl es ein Stangen-PC von HP ist finde ich ihn nicht schlecht. Habe einen neuen Computer für meinen Dad gebraucht (gleich mal 30 Gig für mich abgezwackt ;)). Und bei 500 ¤ (bei Comtech) kann man nix gegen sagen.

Du hast einen nforce4 mit 4 GB RAM. Um den vollständig zu sehen, musst du im BIOS das Memoryhole wie folgt einstellen:

C0-Stepping CPU:
Mode: Software
Size: Auto

E-Stepping (alles was nicht C0 ist):
Mode: Hardware
Size: Manuel - So klein wie möglich. Wenn es zu klein ist, wird er nicht mehr alle Geräte erkennen.

Wenn das nichts hilft, kommst du evetuell weiter indem du mit den Einstellungen für das Memoryhole etwas rumexperimentierst. Auch ein Zusammenhang zwischen Option Rom und zu wenig Speicher wird in Foren häufig diskutiert. Außerdem kann es angeblich helfen, den RAM in die Bänke 2 und 3 zu stecken...
 
leider gibt es die option co- und e-stepping in meinem bios nicht ;-(

ich bin mir mittlerweile aber auch 100% sicher dass es am memory-hole liegt.

das einzige, was ich 4g-maessig in meinem bios einstellen kann ist, ob er die 4gb ummappen soll oder nicht. wenn ich das auf disable stelle sagt mir auch der bootloader nur noch etwas von 2,5gb.

fruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuustrierend.

EDIT: es ist definitiv ein kernel-problem.

Nur der Vollständigkeit halber: Das Stepping (C0 oder Ex) ist kein BIOS-Feature, sondern gibt die Revision des CPU-Kerns an. Man kann es mit Tools oder durch das OS auslesen lassen, alternativ ergibt es sich aus der Beschriftung der CPU. Siehe dazu auch hier: http://fab51.com

Vielleicht weis ja jemand von Euch, was es mit diesen "can't assign resources" Zeilen auf sich hat? Habe zwar keine Ahnung was es ist, aber auch noch keine Probleme bemerkt.

Hast du 'ne GeForce-Karte in dem Rechner drin? Ich hab naemlich eine in meinem Testrechner drin (der Post ueber deinem) und das gleiche Problem... ;) Es stoert zwar nicht im praktischen Betrieb, aber im Unterbewussten juckts mich dann doch das zu beseitigen. :)

Stimmt, ist das gleiche bei Dir. Leider kann ich Dir garnicht weiterhelfen. Ich hab die Karte vor kurzem geschenkt bekommen -- vielleicht interessiert es Dich, dass ich bei ner TNT 2 genau das gleiche Problem hatte.

Wie gesagt, mich nervts auch -- zum Glück scheint es keine Konsequenzen zu haben! :)
